Site work for a civil project in Merritt, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.
BC Timber Sales, Engineering provides access to approximately 200,000m of timber annually from within the Merritt TSA. To gain or improve access to timber resources, the construction and upgrade of Forest Service Roads is required including water management. This contract requires approximately 6.7 kilometres of Upgrades and approximately 1.7 kilometres of new construction on realignment sections on the North Midday Forest Service Road east of Spius Creek and just south of Sunshine Valley. A Forestry License to Cut (FLTC) is associated with this contract to facilitate right-of-way clearing and decking of timber. The successful contractor will become the Licensee for the FLTC. The contractor will also be required to engage the services of a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) to conduct bird and den sweeps 5-7 days before construction. Additionally, the QEP will be required to monitor the installation of the 800mm culvert for the mitigation of sedimentation into the stream. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca
