ESTIMATED COST: $410,500.00 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Roofing Contractor, General Engineering A. Work includes but is not limited to furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools and performing all operations required to remove and install a new roof in accordance with the Contract Documents. Work includes the removal of approximate 13,000 square feet of existing damaged roof and installation of a new roof system and insulation, designed for complete positive drainage, flashing all rooftop penetrations including but not limited to mechanical exhaust vents hood systems rooftop units and vents through the roof, electrical conduits, scuppers, and all appurtenances, and provide additional warranty services. B. Remove and replace approximately 700 square feet of existing shingle roof located at the west side of the building and replace with new shingles. C. Installation of approximately 500 linear feet of metal coping galvanized 24 gages fastened to the perimetral parapet and caulk all seams where necessary D. Install an aluminum roof access hatch approximately 48 inches wide and 48 inches long. E. Install aluminum safety rails for roof access hatch. F. Install an inner fixed steel ladder of approximately 10 feet high. G. Waterproof the top side of all exterior concrete roof edge panels, according to the project construction documents. H. Maintain all minimum roof curb heights based on the latest Florida Building Code. The new roof system would require existing curbs to be raised to comply with the latest Florida Building Code minimum height and replaced due to deterioration. The contractor is responsible for supplying and installing the new curbs where necessary and reinstalling the roof equipment units. All RFI requests should be e-mailed to Alicia.Arce@miamidade.gov while copying the Clerk of the Board (clerkbcc@miamidade.gov) At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and these Solicitation and Contract Documents, the Bidder must hold a valid, current, and active: a. Certificate of Competency from the County's Construction Trades Qualifying Board as a General Engineering Contractor, General Building Contractor or as a Specialty Engineering Contractor, commensurate to the requirements of the Scope of Work, in one or more engineering crafts to include Roofing engineering contractor. The specialty contractor shall subcontract with a qualified contractor any work which is incidental to the specialty but is specified in the aforementioned Code as being the work of other than that of the Engineering Specialty for which certified. If the bidder does not arrive on time for the Site Visit Meeting and Pre-Bid meeting, there is no guarantee that he/she will be allowed to attend. Contractors must RSVP in writing to Alicia.
