The Town of Wallingford is seeking the services of a qualified consultant to evaluate and facilitate preparation of specifications and needs for a new generator at Fire Department Station 5 located at 143 Hope Hill Road. Fire Station 5 located at 143 Hope Hill Road was originally used as a volunteer fire station. It has been repurposed as an EMD and an Emergency Shelter for up to 50 people. The exisiting emergency generator - a Cummins Power Generator Quiet Site 26.8KW, oil-fueld enclosed generator (which is between 40-50 years old) and the existing service to the building - 200 amp service from the street - are not sufficient to satify the potential needs that could arise. The building has a kitchen that is not and cannot be connected to the current generator and will need updates in order to accommodate that.
