Installation of New Bus Wash System - Danville Transit System Question Deadline 09/27/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Email questions to Carol Henley, Director of Purchasing (434) 799-6528 purchasing@danvilleva.gov It is the intent of this ''RFP'' to secure, through competitive negotiation, a highly qualified and responsible contractor to perform the Scope of Work described herein to install a bus wash system to support Danville Transit's operations. Danville Transit maintains an existing bus wash bay and the door height for the bus wash bay is 12'. The bus wash bay is 20' wide, wall to wall and is 14' wide, curb to curb. The bus wash bay is 100' long from door sill to door sill. Danville Transit provides fixed route and demand response bus service using body on chassis buses that include either a Ford 450 or Ford 550 chassis. The height of the buses used in service are approximately 10' and the buses are approximately 9.5 feet wide, mirror to mirror. The contractor will be charged liquidated damages in the amount of $300 per calendar day, including weekends and holidays, the project remains incomplete beyond the indicated time of completion. The contract for the bus wash system is subject to the requirements of Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 26, Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in Department of Transportation Financial Assistance Programs. The Danville Transit System's overall goal for DBE participation is 5.3%. A separate contract goal has not been established for this procurement. This project includes federal contract clause requirements including Davis Bacon wage, rate requirements. Davis Bacon wages are attached. Interested companies must execute the sign off sheet related to these requirements. Interested contractors are encouraged to seek DBE participation for this project.
