I. SCOPE OF SOLICITATION Clemson University seeks an experienced supplier to provide and install a center pivot irrigation system for the Pee Dee Research & Education Center (REC) at 2200 Pocket Rd. Florence, SC 29506 as described herein. This will be a one-time purchase and will be awarded to one offeror. Alternates or approved equals are allowed. Products are to meet specifications and requirements as detailed in Section III Scope of Work/Specifications. If an alternate is being offered, it shall be equal or an approved equal as determined by Clemson University. Any reference to brand names, trade names, model numbers, or other descriptions particular to specific brand products is made to establish a required level of quality and functional capabilities; it is not intended to exclude other products of that level. Comparable products of other manufacturers will be considered if proof of comparability is contained in the bid submission. II. INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFERORS Regardless of specific requirements below or in this document, Offerors are required to submit their proposal electronically through the Clemson University online bidding system. To do so, you must log in (registering first) at https://clemson.ionwave.net/Login.aspx, and follow specific instructions for this solicitation. You should register several days in advance of the bid closing date so you can be approved and login in time to submit a response. 1. The successful Offeror shall provide satisfactory evidence of all required insurance coverage and licenses PRIOR TO PERFORMANCE. 2. Supplier Registration in buyWays - The successful Offeror must be an active supplier in Clemson University's buyWays system. If the Offeror is not an active supplier, the Offeror agrees to complete their supplier registration within three (3) business days of receiving an email invitation to register. The invitation will be sent from support@sciquest.com. 3. Enter pricing as indicated under the line items tab in the online bidding system. 4. Be sure to see the Event Activities in the online bidding system for details on deadlines for questions and/or pre-bid meetings. a. Questions shall be submitted in the online bidding system under the Questionstab by the date and time listed. Answers will be posted in the online system following the deadline for questions date. All Offerors are charged with a duty to inquire. Submitting an Offer, represents that the Offeror has read and understands the solicitation and that its offer is made in compliance with the solicitation. Offerors are expected to examine the solicitation thoroughly and should request an explanation of any ambiguities, discrepancies, errors, omissions, or conflicting statements in the solicitation. Failure to do so will be at the Offeror's risk. III. SCOPE OF WORK / SPECIFICATIONS Clemson University's Pee Dee Research and Education Center (PD REC)seeks an experienced supplier to provide and install a new Irrigation System to include but not limited to all labor, material, and equipment for the following services: 1. Provide & install in satisfactory operating condition one 7000 series Valley center pivot (or approved equivalent) and all required appurtenances in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. 2. The unit will replace a Reinke center pivot that is no longer functional. The unit will utilize the same connections for electricity and water. The Reinke system has been removed. The previous concrete foundational pad remains and the Successful Offeror must remove and dispose of the existing pad and replace with a concrete foundational pad of suitable size per manufacturer specification. 3. The Successful Offeror will make all water and electrical connections in accordance with standard electrical code and manufacturer specifications. 4. The unit will be a self-contained, electrically propelled land irrigation machine driven by individual drive unit structures supported on rubber pneumatic tires. The basic power train will consist of a three-phase electric motor at each drive tower that will drive the wheels through a series of gear reductions. Each tower will be electrically controlled to maintain the selected operating speed and correct alignment. 5. All structural components will be 12 gauge galvanized steel, lined with PolySpan. A Valley Icon5 control panel will provide operator control from the pivot point. 6. The unit will be furnished by an authorized dealer within 50 miles of Pee Dee REC in Florence, SC, and will be new and unused. 7. The unit must be installed and operational no later than February 1, 2025. 8.
