The company's philanthropic arm broke ground on its first Ford Community Center outside of Detroit about a month ago, and the company said it planned to step up its community engagement efforts in the wake of the delay of the car plant ________________________________ The work to be constructed hereunder is located primarily at the Stanton Community Center, at City Hall, 7800 Katella Avenue (southwest corner of Katella Avenue and Cedar Street), in the City of Stanton. The work generally consists of conducting a site evaluation of the generator room and existing equipment, development of incidental design plans, obtaining all required permits, deferred submittals, mobilization and demobilization, removing existing portion of concrete slab, construct new PCC foundation pad for the proposed generator, installing the new turn-key generator with fuel supply tank containment, fuel supply system, exhaust and ventilation systems, vibration isolation, furnishing and install conduits and power supply wires from the point of connection to the new generator, installing new Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) to connect to existing panel in the electrical room located adjacent to the generator room in the Stanton Community Center building, furnishing and installing all required electrical equipment and appurtenances necessary for the generator to be fully operational, obtain all required permits from applicable agencies, including OCFA and AQMD approval and permits for construction and to operate, confirmation of CalGreen & LEED compliance, providing all manuals and instructions to the City, resorting all damaged landscape, hardscape, or existing improvements caused by construction, and all incidentals to complete the work. All written questions, if answered, will be answered in writing and conveyed to all interested bidders on or before November 14, 2024. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after the Bid opening date. Note: This is a Federal-Aid project and contractor shall comply with all Federal-Aid requirements. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Stanton as Bid Guarantee. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Each bond shall be in the forms set forth herein, shall be secured from a surety company that meets all State of California bonding requirements, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and that is a California admitted surety insurer. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the successful Bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by City to ensure its performance under the Contract. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1773, City has obtained the prevailing rate of per diem wages and the prevailing wage rate for holiday and overtime work applicable in Orange County from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute this contract. A copy of these prevailing wage rates may be obtained via the internet at online. As the project is funded / partially funded with CDBG-CV Federal Funds, the higher of the federal wage determination and the state wage determination shall be quoted. Appendix III Prevailing Wage Rate includes documents and links regarding the Federal Labor Standards. Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the Contract: Class "A" or "B" AND Class "C-10" (Electrical Contractor). The Contractor shall Complete all Work in every detail within forty-five (45) working days from the date of the Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated September 25, 2024, exclusive of maintenance periods. This project is a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project; so contractor shall ensure the project is completed in a timely manner.
