Western Water’s Response: $3,375 per day Bid Bond 0.00% Payment Bond 0.00% Performance Bond 0.00% PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS A. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and all material to complete the crack remediation, resealing, and restriping of the parking lot at Western Municipal Water District's (Western Water) 14205 & 14305 Meridian Parkway facility. If additional materials are required to finish the project, it will be the financial responsibility of the Contractor to supply and install. B. The Contractor is responsible for determining and calculating square footage of the entire area to be recoated. C. The Contractor is responsible to haul away and properly dispose, according to local and state regulations, all spoils/debris caused by the project and all leftover materials. D. The contractor is responsible so secure all necessary permits and ensuring that the work complies with local regulations. E. Work shall be performed on a Saturday and Sunday and must be traffic ready for that following Monday which includes striping or markings delineating parking spaces and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) areas. The project may be afforded multiple weekends so the work can be broken up into sections so that the section can be complete and traffic ready by the following Monday. 1.2 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each product used in the project, submit printed or digital copies of manufacturers product information including the following: 1. Printed affirmation of performance characteristics 2. Application Instructions 3. Technical Data Sheets 4. Safety Data Sheets B. Warranty Documents: Provide sample copies of the Manufacturer's standard form outlining the terms and conditions of the warranty specified for the work in this section if applicable. C. Shop Drawings: 1. Provide a detailed striping plan of the entire parking lot. 2. Provide site map detailing traffic control. 1.3 PRE-WORK CONFERENCE A. Prior to commencement of work, conduct a conference at project site. Review and affirm methods and procedures related to the work specified in this section including but not limited to the following: 1. Meet with Western Water staff. 2. Review methods and procedures related to crack remediation, asphalt coating and striping, including the manufacturer's written instructions. 3. Review and finalize construction schedule and verify availability of materials, installer's personnel, equipment, and facilities needed to make progress and avoid delays. 4. Examine parking lot conditions for compliance with requirements. 5. Review governing regulations and requirements for insurance and certificates, if applicable. 6. Review temporary Traffic Control Plan. 1.4 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Weather Limitations: Proceed with work only when existing and forecast weather conditions permit the sealing products to be installed according to the manufacturers written instructions and warranty requirements. B. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside Manufacturer's absolute limits. C. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) must be on location during the transportation, storage, and application of materials. D. When applying materials with spray equipment, take precautions to prevent overspray and/or solvents from damaging or defacing surrounding walls, building surfaces, vehicles, plants, or other property. 1.5 SITE PREPARATION A. Block off all cross traffic with appropriate signage. B. Mark any utilities or other important areas to avoid damage during construction. C. Remove all debris that would interfere or impede work and performance of sealing products used. 1.6 CRACK REMEDIATION A. Cracks 1/8" - 3/4" width: 1. Clean of all foreign matter 2. Seal cracks with an industrial asphalt crack seal filler as per the product's manufacturer specification. B. Cracks 3/4" and larger: 1. Mill/Cold plane large cracks up to a depth of 4" to obtain proper height elevation for new asphalt. 2. Clean, tack and inlay previously milled asphalt in multiple locations with up to 4" of hot mix asphalt. Roll and compact to a smooth finish. 1.7 SEAL COAT A. Power clean surface debris. B. Repair all damaged asphalt and areas saturated by oil or grease. C. Application of the seal coat of 'OverKote' industrial pavement sealer or equivalent, applied as per manufacturers recommendations. 1.8 STRIPING A. New striping shall match the existing layout unless otherwise specified and have prior written approval by Western Water. B. All concrete curbs that have paint applied shall have a traction enhancer added to provide a nonslip surface. C. Striping is to include the areas defined but not limited to the following list: 1. Double white lines new layout 2. Speed Bumps 3. Handicap 4. Crosshatching 5. No Parking 6. Charging Station Only 7. Carpool 8. Compact Spaces 9. Crosshatching 10. Fire Lane identification - red curb i. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Safety red ii. "FIRE LANE - NO PARKING - CVC 22500.1" Shall be printed on top of curb in 3" white lettering at a spacing of 30' on center or portion thereof. 11. Replace any broken car stops. 12. Replace the blue reflectors in the parking lot denoting fire hydrants. 13. Parking spot stenciling with white lettering: 1. Stencil will be provided by Western Water for Western Water marked spaces. 2. Paving Contractor is to create stenciling for Kaiser parking spaces based on existing size, color and verbiage. 1.9 WARRANTY A. The Contractor shall provide a 1-year warranty against materials and workmanship, all incurred costs will be the responsibility of the Contractor at no cost to Western Water.
