Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Riverdale, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Reference Number 0000360265 Road Name Powers Street The Project consists of, but is not limited to, the widening of Powers Street for approximately 3,400 linear feet. Although the existing width along Powers Street varies, most of the roadway consists of two 10' lanes with minimal portions of curb & gutter (C&G) and sidewalk along the commercial side of the street. The design calls for widening the roadway to two 14' lanes (plus the addition of 24" C&G), and the addition of 5'-wide ADA-compliant sidewalks. The sidewalks are to be installed on both sides of the street. Additionally, a restraining wall will be constructed in places along the back and above the east side sidewalk to keep pedestrians from falling down the steep slopes and provide a screen between the residential and commercial uses. There is an ongoing development on the west side of Powers Street. Limits of construction are defined on the drawings; however, the contractor shall coordinate with the City and the developer's contractors. The existing drainage system along the easterly side of Powers Street consists of a series of culverts, swales, catch basins, and piping. Along the westerly side there are minimal drainage structures consisting primarily of driveway culverts. The design includes the modification and/or redesign to ensure adequate storm drainage is provided. Installation of the sidewalk and pavement along Powers Street is complicated by numerous utility conflicts, grade changes, and large trees. In addition, some of the existing drainage structures are compromised and will modification/replacement . Each bidder will be required to submit a bid bond of 5% of its bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to submit performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of its bid amount. The City reserves to right to reject bids from unqualified bidders or bid the City deems fraudulent.
