These specifications intend to describe an annual agreement for water treatment chemicals for the City of Abilene Water Treatment Department. The chemicals will be used to treat drinking water at the Grimes, Hargesheimer and Northeast Water Treatment Plants; as well as the Hamby Wastewater Treatment Plant. The City of Abilene, Texas, is Requesting Bids for the Following Water Treatment Chemicals. o Liquid Chlorine o Liquid Oxygen o Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite) o Polymer o Sodium Permanganate o Liquid Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) o Liquid Ammonium Sulfate (Las) Liquid Citric Acid o Fluorosilicic Acid o Ferrous Chloride o Ferric Sulfate o Sodium Chlorite o Caustic (Sodium Hydroxide) o Sodium Bisulfite The term of this agreement shall be for a period of twelve (12) months (fiscal year) beginning October 1st and ending September 30th the next year. The agreement may be renewed for up to one (1) additional one-year periods at the same terms, conditions, and percentage adjustment by mutual agreement of the parties. Renewal may be affected by notice in writing and does not require specific City Council approval, provided that the City Council has appropriated sufficient funds to satisfy the City's obligations during the renewal term. The City of Abilene reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept any bid which is considered to most benefit the City of Abilene. Any bidder choosing to have a bid considered agrees to hold harmless the City of Abilene and all of its officials from any claim arising out of the award of the bid. The bidder assumes all responsibilities for understanding the information provided herein, and the City assumes no liability for any information furnished. All product testing shall occur in accordance with AWWA referenced standards Certificate of Analysis shall be required. A certificate of analysis will minimally include: 1. Date & Time of Manufacture 2. Certification of NSF/ANSI 60 compliance in accordance with AWWA Standard B301-18 The analysis may be verified by the City of Abilene in accordance with the testing methods outlined in NSF 60 Standard.
