The work includes the following: 1. Construction of approximately 1215 LF of 6" sanitary force main, 160 LF of 10" sanitary force main, 8735 LF of 12" sanitary force main, and 7610 LF of 18" sanitary force main. Construction includes 8 air release manholes and 8 maintenance manholes. 2. Construction of approximately 20 LF of 18" gravity sanitary main and 1538 LF of 24" sanitary main. Construction includes 7 sanitary manholes. Together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications. Question Deadline 08/28/2024 A bid security as defined by Iowa Code Chapter 26.8 and in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District, shall accompany each bid. Work on the improvements shall commence upon approval of the contract by the Board of Trustees, and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. Work under the Contract must be substantially complete by March 1, 2025, and complete and ready for final payment in accordance with the contract documents by July 1, 2025. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract.
