Demolition, site work and new construction of a municipal facility in North Beach, Maryland. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The Town of North Beach (Town) in partnership with the Ladies of Charity Calvert County, Inc. (LOCCC) is requesting proposals from licensed contractors with at least ten (10) years' experience in public building construction, specifically with the demolition and removal of an existing building and the construction of a new building on the same site. The Town and the LOCCC further seek a contractor with experience with projects involving State of Maryland grant funds. The Town and the LOCCC reserve the right to award one contract for the entirety of the work specified in this RFP or to award multiple contracts for portions of the work specified in the RFP. Questions Due Date and Time: Friday, August 30, 2024 prior to 10 a.m. to Stacy Milor, Town Clerk, at northbeach@northbeachmd.org All proposals received must be valid for 180 calendar days from the date that responses to this RFP are due. Scope of Work The Town and the LOCCC seek to award a contract to a qualified experienced construction contractor to demolish and dispose of the existing food pantry building and to construct a new building on the same site in accordance with the Pantry Drawing and Specifications attached hereto as Exhibit A. Permits are under review with the Calvert County Government Department of Planning and Zoning. If because of permit review and modifications are necessary, i.e. (fire sprinkler system) the plans and specifications shall be amended, and the work shall become part of the Scope of Work. All work shall be performed safely and in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, County and local laws, rules and regulations. The contractor shall be responsible for providing a safe working environment. The contractor will be working in a residential neighborhood and should ensure that there is minimal disruption to the neighbors.
