The work contemplated by this contract consists of roof replacement, siding repairs, selected window replacements and related work at the existing visitor center as well as exterior painting at the entire museum known as the Noah Webster House. Question Deadline 09/02/2024 All questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to rick.hyman@westhartfordCT.gov, at least seven calendar days prior to the date established for the opening of bids. Please do not call the Engineer/ Architect, Project Manager or Purchasing Office with questions. The work contemplated by this contract consists of roof replacement, siding repairs, selected window replacements and related work at the existing visitor center as well as exterior painting at the entire museum known as the Noah Webster House. The work shall include removal and replacement of the existing roofing, underlayment, flashings and roof accessories including skylights at the pitched roofs and selected window replacements at the north side wall of the visitor center; repairs and/or replacement of the existing exterior siding and trim at the visitor center; removal and replacement of the existing gutters and downspouts at the visitor center; exterior painting at the entire museum complex; installation of the new lightning protection at the roof of the visitor center; and all related work necessary for a complete job. The building is owned by the Town of West Hartford and occupied by the Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society (the Owner). The Contractor shall exercise care to protect all property of the owner from damage during performance of the work. At completion of the work, the building shall be returned to a condition suitable for occupancy and continued use by the owner.
