The Town of Bedford Economic Development Authority (EDA) is seeking proposals to remediate metal oxide dust from the interior surfaces at 1 Abrasive Avenue, Bedford, Virginia. The EDA will be redeveloping a former steel foundry into a regional metal workforce training center for youth and adult students using Virginia Brownfields Assistance Funds (VBAF) awarded from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). The property has been evaluated from both a Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessment to identify the nature of the material to be removed. The following generally highlights the services the individual or firm is requested to perform as directed by the Town of Bedford Economic Development Authority. A contractor may identify other aspects that the Town should consider in making the space clean for reuse as an educational facility.
