The work shall generally consist of: The reconstruction of a Hot-Mix Asphalt Parking Lot. Major items of work include aggregate grading and compaction, bituminous materials, HMA binder and surface courses, pavement striping, traffic control and protection and other related work. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Taylorville, Illinois or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as required by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and by the Contract documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their of race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or physical or mental handicap, and that certain other requirements do apply since the Contract if awarded will be by a public governmental entity. All questions of a technical nature regarding the project will only be answered in writing by Addendum. The City of Taylorville, Illinois reserves the right to reject any or all bids, any or all bid items, and to waive any and all irregularities or informalities in the bids and/or bidding process and/or in the award of bids. An award of bid, if made, shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
