The Moss Performing Arts Building was constructed in 1968 and is approximately 74,500 sf. Currently, the Performing Arts Building houses the University's Department of Theatre Arts and Music programs; the University anticipates the facility to be occupied during construction. The goal of the project is to address safety, accessibility and code compliancy all while addressing space utilization by increasing the capacity to accommodate additional students, staff and community members. This State funded expansion and renovation project has been divided into two phases. The first already completed expansion phase, was the construction of a new theatre across campus from the existing building. This second renovation phase will address the existing building deficiencies, including acoustical, accessibility and aesthetic. Incorporated into this project will be the mechanical work necessary to connect the Moss Performing Arts Center building to the campus geo exchange system.
