SUMMARY: The City of Galax is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the removal and replacement of the existing roofing on two separate buildings: the Vaughan Library (Old Library) located at 608 W Stuart Drive, Galax, VA 24333 and the Annex (located behind the Vaughan Building) at 601 W Oldtown St. Galax, VA 24333. This includes the removal of the existing roofing shingles material, prepping roof for new installation, and installation of described materials listed herein in the Scope of Work section. Bidders are encouraged to conduct an on-site inspection prior to bid submission. Inspections can be scheduled by contacting City of Galax staff. The City of Galax reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids. The City of Galax reserves the right to alter the Scope of Work for this project as deemed in the best interest of the City. For each of the two buildings, the Contractor shall: 1. Replace existing shingles with 25-year architectural asphalt shingles 2. Use titanium roof underlayment or equivalent 3. Replace all drip edge 4. Replace all flashing material with new flashing material. 5. Repair damaged roof on cost and material basis 6. Match new roofing with existing color ensuring same lot number shingles are used throughout total project. 7. Police area to ensure all nails and debris are removed. 8. Remove all crating and debris from job site and dispose of properly. 9. Provide details of material used such as branding and manufacturer. 10. All goods and services to be warrantied.
