Reference Number 0000361034 The City of Poway is seeking a qualified consultant to complete the City's 2025 Watershed Sanitary Survey (WSS) Update for the Lake Poway watershed by December 31, 2024. Lake Poway, owned and operated by the City, was created in 1972 to provide a dependable water supply, provide storage for emergencies and buffer the effects of peak seasonal water demands. The volume of Lake Poway is approximately 3,432 acre-feet, and the surface area is approximately 62 acres. The Lake Poway watershed is 1,686 acres, or 2.6 square miles. Drinking water utilities that use surface water are required to conduct a WSS for that source, under the California Surface Water Treatment Rule. This 2025 update to the Lake Poway WSS will cover the period January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024, and address potential adverse impacts to the watershed and its receiving waters, as well as satisfy the SWTR, Stage 1 Disinfection By-Products Rule, Long Term 1 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule, Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule, and Revised Total Coliform Rule requirements.
