Description of Work Scope: The scope of work shall include, but is not limited to, cleaning and prepping the existing pool surface, and installing a PVC membrane liner in the pool. Itemized pricing based on the categories must be provided on the bid form. The Town may opt to eliminate tasks and/or do some items in-house to keep the project within the budget. Pool Description: The War Memorial Pool was originally constructed in 1953 as a steel lined pool. The pool was renovated most recently in 2011, with new gutters and a vinyl liner. Construction drawing for the 2011 upgrade is included in this document. Project Coordination: The project shall be completed when the pool is off-line between the 2024- 2025 seasons and shall be completed prior to when the pool is to be used for the 2025 season. The Town will drain the pool and remove pool lane markers, ladders, and associated pool features prior to work. Questions shall be emailed to Simone Cristofori at cristoforis@amherstma.gov . The Contractor shall notify the Town at least 5-days in advance of planned work. Work shall begin after the pool is taken off line for the season, and shall be completed in time for 2025 pool season. Security deposits will be required in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check, or cashier's check, from a responsible bank, trust company, or insurance institution, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the Town of Amherst. Should any bidder to whom an award is made fail to enter into a contract with the Town within ten (10) business days after the award is mailed to the bidder, or fail within such time to furnish a payment bond as required, the amount of the bid deposit so received from such bidder shall become the property of the Town as liquidated damages for such failure. Thereafter the Town may proceed to award the contract to the next responsible and responsive bidder. Question Deadline 08/28/2024 at 2:00 PM ET Questions will be answered in writing and both questions and answers will be distributed to all bidders who receive the IFB provided, however, that all questions are received at least seven (7) days in advance of the bidding deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract award, not later than ten (10) working days after the award notification. Bonds will be for one (1) year and shall be renewed annually at the Contractor's expense. The Town of Amherst reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.
