Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Waynesboro, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 24,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center.

The City of Waynesboro is seeking bids for the Rosenwald Community Center Handicap Accessibility project. The City of Waynesboro, Virginia is requesting sealed bids for electrical service upgrades and elevator installation for the Rosenwald Community Center Handicap Accessibility project. The project scope consists of electrical service upgrades to include: all material and labor for complete electrical installation, remove and dispose of existing 800 amp main disconnect and main distribution panel, install new 800 amp main disconnect, install main distribution panel, upgrade wiring as required, add breakers for unfused panels (total of two) and add 125-amp breaker for new elevator equipment. In addition, the project scope also includes the materials and labor for the installation of an elevator per design plans prepared by Colley Architects. The building is located at 413 Port Republic Road, Waynesboro, VA, 22980. Notice to Proceed October 18, 2024 Final Completion Date March 31, 2025 Question Deadline 09/11/2024 Question Form (Section 1.2.10), to Leslie Tate via email TateLC@ci.waynesboro.va.us Contractors offering bids shall be actively registered on the federal System for Award Management (SAM.gov). The City shall require the Contractor to obtain a contractor license prior to award. Bids shall be accompanied by a bank cashier's check or Bid Guarantee Bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Base Bid made payable to the City of Waynesboro, Virginia, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. A Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, including additions or deductions, with a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of Virginia, rated no less than A VII by A.M. Best, and otherwise acceptable in all respects to the City's Attorney shall be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. The Contractor shall show satisfactory evidence of compliance with all bond requirements before entering into any agreement to sublet any of the work to be done under this Contract. The bonds shall protect the City from claims from persons or firms performing labor or furnishing materials and from claims for damages, claims, losses or other expenses to the City, including any attorney's fees, arising from failure of the Contractor to perform the Contract, or to correct defective materials or workmanship. Such bonds shall remain in force for a period of at least twelve months after the completion and final acceptance of the project by the City. Executed copies of the Labor and Material Payment and Performance Bonds shall be bound with, and become a part of, all copies of the Contract. Prior to the issuance of any bond required by this Contract, the Contractor or Subcontractor shown as principal on the bond shall furnish the insurance company issuing the bond with a copy of the Contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any informality, and to delete items prior to making an award.
