Site work for a swimming pool in Grayslake, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a swimming pool.
The Village of Grayslake, Lake County, Illinois, is soliciting sealed bids from construction contractors for the following project: Grayslake aquatic center splash pad construction (2024) The Work described in these specifications consists of removal of a current sand pit feature and the construction of a splash pad feature in its place. The Contractor shall provide to the Village Representative a catalog of water play features to be considered in the splash pad. The Work shall be performed at the Esper A. Petersen Foundation Family Aquatic Center at 250 Library Lane, Grayslake, IL 60030. The Village of Grayslake reserves the right to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder most favorable to the Village, as determined by the Village. The Village also reserves the right to reject any bid or part of a bid that does not conform to the bidding requirements or to modify or waive all formalities and technicalities in a bid, or to reject all bids. The Contractor shall complete the Work no later than April 1, 2025. Each Bidder's Proposal shall be accompanied by a security deposit of at least five percent of the Bidder's Price Proposal in the form of (1) a Cashier's Check or Certified Check drawn on a solvent bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and payable without condition to Owner or (2) a Bid Bond in a form satisfactory to Owner from a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois with a general rating of A-minus and a financial size category of Class X or better in Best's Insurance Guide Construction Activities 1. Excavate pad shell (includes removal of existing shower area and pouring of concrete to match area). 2. Removal all debris and haul off-site (project will not be considered complete until all debris is off-site). 3. Frame Pad walls. 4. Install all pad plumbing according to the proper building code(s). All plumbing work shall be completed per building codes and is subject to inspection. a. Plumbing of main drain for pad. b. Plumbing of return line systems for pad. c. Plumbing of hydrostatic valve. d. Plumbing of surge tank autofill. e. Plumbing for all features, sprayers, and geysers. Plumbing for surge tank. 5. Install rebar according to building code(s). 6. Shoot concrete splash pad flooring. 7. Supply and install new tile for splash pad. a. Build tile wall. b. Install tile shelf. c. Install tile. d. Install grout. 8. Supply and install plaster for flooring (if needed). a. Acid wash flooring. b. Bond coat flooring. c. Install plaster (Diamond Bright to be picked by owner). 9. Supply and install all equipment for splash pad (all equipment to be approved by client and per engineering specifications). a. Frame and install concrete equipment pad. b. Pumps: run all plumbing, electrical and configure programming. c. Filters: run all new plumbing. d. Chlorinator / Salt generator: run all plumbing. e. Control Board: run all electrical and configure programming. i. Install breakers. ii. Install control board. 10. Run all electrical for splash pad, lighting, heater, panel, pumps, etc. All electrical work shall be completed per building codes and is subject to inspection. 11. Run all necessary gas lines for splash pad heater.
