Site work and paving for a road / highway in Reading, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The work shall consist of the replacement of guide rail elements, including but not limited to, the removal of several trees to provide access, along Glen Road, Howard Place, and Spring Valley Road. The project is being funded by the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program. Funding requirements must be followed. To ensure fair consideration for all bidders, the City prohibits communication to or with any department or division manager or employee during the bid process with the exception of those questions relative to interpretation of specifications of the bid process. Such questions shall be submitted to Purchasing via Bonfire at website no later than September 13 2024. Responses to questions shall be issued to all bidders in the form of a written addendum no later than September 25, 2024. Each proposal shall be accompanied by bid surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal. A certified check or bid bond will be accepted. Attention is called to the fact that Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates must be paid by the contractor and that employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex or national origin. The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest.
