Project Description The following Project description is for general information only and should not be construed to be a complete description of all Work required. Reference should be made to Exhibit A "Engineering Plans Grading & Drainage Improvements". The goal of the project is to kill the existing grass and weeds, grade the existing soil to meet the cut/fill goals as per the grading plan, homogenize the existing root zone soil to breakup the layers, bury all organic and inorganic debris, import the recommended root zone sand or 90/10 mix to meet proposed finished grades, homogenize the mix and existing soil to a depth of 6-8 inches, sprig with Celebration Bermuda grass and 'grow-in' the new stand of turfgrass throughout the fall, winter and early spring to prepare the field for play in the spring of 2025. Final completion shall be on or before October 31, 2025. The estimated project amount is roughly $330,000.00. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. SCOPE OF WORK The City of West Palm Beach (City) is accepting bids from qualified and responsible Contractors to furnish and be responsible for all labor (including costs for overtime, nights, weekends, holiday and multiple phasing work), material, construction equipment and machinery, transportation, tools, appliances, fuel, power, light, telephone, water, sanitary facilities, temporary facilities and all other facilities and incidentals, including supervision, servicing, taxes, bonds and insurance, permitting fees, traffic control, security, miscellaneous costs, warranties, general conditions, overhead and profit necessary to perform the Bill Moss Hillcrest Paseo Park soccer field drainage and grading improvements Project Work as shown in the engineering plans and described in the solicitation documents for the project. Project Summary The existing soccer field has a root zone soil that is layered with unacceptable internal drainage to a depth of approximately eight (8) inches. In addition, the grades undulate throughout the field with a swale near the north end and numerous flat or low areas that hold water. As a result, the playability of the field has been reduced and it has been difficult to establish an adequate stand of grass to support wear from the soccer program.
