Renovation of a residential development in Claremont, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE Catawba County is soliciting proposals from Roofing Contractors, on behalf of Western Piedmont Council of Governments. Catawba County has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Scattered Site Housing Project to rehabilitate homes. The house needing a new roof pursuant to this RFP is located on N. Oxford Street, Claremont, North Carolina 28610. The scope of work for this project consists of providing a new roof on the house at this location. INSTRUCTIONS TO PROPOSERS There are no pre-bid or mandatory meetings for this job. It is up to the contractor to make arrangements with the homeowner for a site visit. All bidders are notified that Catawba County encourages small and minority owned businesses to bid on their projects. PROPOSAL QUESTIONS Upon review of the RFP documents, Contractors may have questions to clarify or interpret the scope of work contained in this RFP in order to submit the best proposal possible. To accommodate the Proposal Questions process, Contractors must submit any such questions by the above due date. Questions from Contractors can be emailed to Laurie Powell at laurie.powell@wpcog.org or you may reach out by telephone at (828) 485-4248, by the date and time specified above. If by email, Contractor should enter "RFP # 304-25-1006 - Questions" as the subject for the email. Questions received prior to the submission deadline date, the County's response, and any additional terms deemed necessary by the County will be posted in the form of an addendum to the Catawba County website, SUBMISSION OF BIDS If you are interested in bidding on the installation of a new roof for this CDBG project, please include the following information in your proposal: 1. Name, address, and phone number of your company. 2. North Carolina General Contractors License Number (if applicable). 3. Brief narrative and/or description of services that will be provided. 4. Cost estimate. 5. Any other information your company feels would be helpful. CONTRACTOR INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Insurance Requirements: Workmen's Compensation & Employer's Liability: Comprehensive Commercial General Liability: Bodily Injury General Liability Property Damage Statutory $1,000,000 to aggregate $1,000,000 $1,000,000 Automotive Liability (Owned, Non-Owned & Hired): At all times while the Contractor's representatives are conducting on-site work, the Contractor shall maintain Business Auto Insurance for any owned, non-owned, hired or rented vehicle with a limit of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage liability. The limit may be satisfied by a combination of primary and excess insurance. LICENSES AND PERMITS If applicable, Contractors must provide documentation that they possess any international, federal, state, county, and local licenses and/or permits needed to provide the services requested in this RFP. E-VERIFY Contractor shall comply with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes. Further, if Contractor utilizes a subcontractor, Contractor shall require the subcontractor to comply with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes. HOLD HARMLESS The Contractor shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Catawba County, all County officials, and householders against any and all losses, claims, actions, damages, liability, and expenses, including but not limited to those in connection with loss of life, bodily and personal injury, or damaged to property occasioned wholly or in part by the Contractor or by persons employed directly or indirectly by the Contractor in connection with this service.
