This project involves electrical and mechanical work to modernize the sole Dover passenger elevator at Racine City Hall . This project consists of electrical and mechanical upgrades to the City Hall Elevator at the City of Racine. Site Address: 730 Washington Avenue City: Racine County: WI State/Province: WI Pre-Qualification: Yes Site Directions: I-94 to STH 20. STH 20 East to City Hall A. This Section defines the modernization of 1978 vintage Dover hydraulic passenger, State Tag No. 16360, located at the Racine City Hall, 730 Washington, Ave, Racine, WI. Provisions of this Section indicate the extent of the renovations. B. The Base Bid will cover all work except Section 1.2, which is the responsibility of the Others. Alternate pricing will be required in the event that additional work is required over the Base Bid to replace the hydraulic jacks. C. Work shall include all material and labor specified for a complete and first-class job in every respect. Procedures, craftsmanship, and materials of the highest quality shall be utilized. Once started, installation shall proceed during regular working hours without interruption until complete. D. Where a device or part of the equipment is referred to in the singular number, it is intended that such reference shall apply to all devices, unless otherwise indicated. E. Unless specifically identified as "Retain" or "Reuse" in Part 2, provide new equipment. Equipment that is "Retained" or "Reused" shall be reconditioned or renewed to place into satisfactory condition for reuse. Any components not specifically replaced (retained components) shall be cleaned, adjusted, lubricated, refurbished, recalibrated, fasteners tightened, painted, tested, and guaranteed for the term of the warranty period. F. Where "Bidder" or "Contractor" is identified, it shall refer to the Elevator Contractor. Where Contractor is directed to "Provide" devices or equipment, such devices or equipment shall be furnished and installed as work under this Section. G. Elevator Contractor shall provide all labor, elevator equipment, materials, transportation, tools and equipment, temporary protection, hoisting and rigging, lubricants and cleaning supplies, employee safety equipment, supervision, coordination, and other work or items required to perform work under this Section, whether or not expressly stated. H. Elevator Contractor shall be solely responsible for complete compliance with contract documents and to manufacture new equipment to suit the existing conditions. I. Elevator Contractor shall be solely responsible for environmental requirements, for verifying all existing clearances and dimensions in the specification and drawing, existing conditions, calculations, and voltages, for code compliance, and for coordination of work of other trades. J. Any items omitted from this scope of work which are reasonably necessary for completion of the elevator modernization shall be considered to be a part of the scope of work or specification, although not directly referenced. K. Failure to visit site or failure to examine any and all documents will in no way relieve successful Bidder from the necessity of furnishing any materials or equipment or performing any work that may be required. Neglect of above requirements will not be grounds for delay in work or additional compensation.
