It is the intent of the College of Lake County (CLC) to enter into an Agreement with a Professional Contractor to demo and replace select existing fluorescent light fixtures and bulbs with new LED light fixtures and bulbs. Additionally, several rooms will require 0-10V compatible supplemental dimming controls. This work will occur at the Southlake Campus located at 1120 South Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills, IL 60061. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check made payable to the College of Lake County for not less than ten percent (10%) of the proposal amount. Installation work under this contract shall comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate Act of the State of Illinois, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. and Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act (30ILCS 570/0.01 et. A performance bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College as security for the faithful performance of the College's contract; and 10.2. A payment bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and materials to the Contractor or Subcontractors for the performance of work provided for in the contract, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College. SCOPE OF WORK This bid project will include the Contractor's full coordination needed for any needed local permits, local access requirements, demo, disposal, and replacement of select existing fluorescent light fixtures and bulbs with supplemental dimming controls. The CLC Facilities Department will assist the contractor with Campus Wide Notifications which will include the contractor's inserts. The Contractor is expected to complete this work in a timely and efficient manner. The allowed 6 months from Notice to Proceed until Substantial Completion should adequately cover materials with long lead times. If material fabrication is held up the Owner will renegotiate the Substantial BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM (BEP)PARTICIPATION It is the policy of the College of Lake County to increase business opportunities for certified organizations as part of the State's Business Enterprise Program (BEP). The College has a 30% aspirational goal for this program. Please complete the form attached detailing the percentage of BEP's to be used on this project including the diversity ofthe bidder's own workforce.
