Scope of Services Private property owners within the City of Santa Barbara occasionally need to have their sewer laterals repaired, abandoned, or through development, install new sewer laterals. Historically, these property owners have hired a private plumbing contractor who on their behalf obtained a public works permit, and performed the lateral inspection and repair work, which involved exposing the sewer lateral connection. The City has contracted out the sewer lateral services but does not contract out to the property owners private contractor. At this time, the City wishes to build upon the current mode of operation and offer property owners the ability to have the Citys contractor perform all associated work to repair, replace, abandon, or add new sewer tap or connection, including excavation and paving. The initial contract will be for a one (1) year period from the date of the award. This contract can be renewed by mutual consent for 4 additional one-year terms. The maximum term shall not exceed 5 years from the date of award.
