Cushing Center Exterior Painting and Restoration The Town of Norwell is soliciting sealed bids from qualified bidders for the Cushing Center Exterior Painting and Restoration Question Deadline 09/10/2024 at 3:00 PM ET Questions regarding this project must be received in writing by the person listed above (Ted Nichols, Project Manager), no later than 48 hours prior to the due date/time for quotes. Please do not address questions to any other person. The work includes performing exterior painting, exterior trim and siding restoration, exterior window re-glazing (glazing compound) and miscellaneous minor exterior repairs. Bid will include all project scope of work. The building carries a National Register Historic District designation, and CPA Historic Preservation Funds are being utilized. All work must comply with the US Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties. All bidders must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the painting and wooden element restoration of historic buildings and must provide a minimum of 3 references for projects of similar type and scale performed and completed on historic buildings within the past 10 years. All bidders must be currently certified as a MA Lead-Safe Renovation Contractor and have a certified MA Lead-Safe Renovator Supervisor present on the job at all times that activities disturb or may disturb painted surfaces. Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30 section 39 M as most recently amended, and all other applicable laws. Bids are subject to prevailing wage rates as required by M.G.L. c. 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive. For bids over $50,000, bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the total bid (considering all add-alternates), and made payable to the Town of Norwell. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract amount for contracts greater than $25,000 and not over $150,000. The bond shall be obtained from a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, on a form provided by the Town. The Town of Norwell reserves the right to waive any informality, to cancel this solicitation for bids, and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
