DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR UNITS OF WORK: Pavement Removal 3,096 SY Concrete Valley Gutter 60 SY 9" Reinforced Concrete Pavement 3,002 SY 4" Aggregate Base, Type AB-3 3,096 SY Pavement Marking (High Durability)(Wh)(24") 476 LF Pavement Marking (Epoxy)(Yellow)(4") 1,104 LF Traffic Control 1 LS Pavement Marking (Epoxy)(White)(4") 930 LF All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including alternates), made payable to the City of Topeka, Kansas. The original bid security shall be in the office of Contracts and Procurement before the 2:00 closing date. A pre-bid conference will be held at N/A Performance and Other Bonds: 5.1. Contractor shall furnish performance and payment Bonds, each in an amount equal to the Contract Price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents. These Bonds shall remain in effect at least until one year after the date when final payment becomes due, except as otherwise provided by Law or Regulation or by the Contract Documents. The performance bond shall acknowledge the one year correction period in accordance with the requirements of Article 13. All Bonds shall be in the forms prescribed by Law or Regulation or by the Contract Documents and be executed by such sureties who are named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (amended) by the Audit Staff Bureau of Accounts, U.S. Treasury Department. All Bonds signed by an agent must be accompanied by a certified copy of the authority to act. 5.2. If the surety on any Bond furnished by Contractor is declared a bankrupt or becomes insolvent or its right to do business is terminated in any state where any part of the Project is located or it ceases to meet the requirements of paragraph 5.1, Contractor shall within five days thereafter substitute another Bond and Surety, both of which must be acceptable to Owner.
