As of August 20, 2025, a consultant has been awarded. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Town of Scituate is soliciting proposals pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 7c, 44-58 for The Feasibility Study & Schematic Design for a Harbormaster's Building, located at 100 Cole Parkway, Scituate, MA 02066. Scope of Project The Town is seeking a qualified consultant in coastal infrastructure to provide professional engineering/architectural service for a feasibility study and schematic design for a new Harbormaster facility to replace the existing facility. The goal of this project is to provide a schematic design solution allowing for enhanced public accessibility including barrier-free access which will further the continuation and growth of the harbor as a prime economic driver for the local economy. These goals include increasing the resiliency of the facility so that it is available during climate events, as well as continuing to provide public services to the USCG, multiple other Federal agencies, Scituate Police Department, Scituate Fire Department, launch services, 300 recreational boaters, and transient boaters. The study will examine the existing site and develop two building options - namely, a renovation/addition to the existing facility or the demolition of the existing facility and construction of a new facility. A selected design solution shall provide the essential services required by the commercial and recreational boaters and the emergency response and recovery agencies that utilize the harbor and surrounding waters.
