As of July 16, 2025, construction has not started. Construction should start in the next few months. It is believed all trades have been awarded. “The owner has selected a Design Builder. A timeline for construction has not yet been established.” The purpose of this document is to solicit qualifications from a team consisting of professional designers and licensed contractors to provide Design Build services for the replacement of a failed mooring dolphin at the City of Valdez Kelsey Municipal Dock. The selected firm will be responsible for all design, permitting, construction, and project inspections and close-out required to furnish a suitable replacement. Ancillary scope may include dock modifications, dredging, and utility modifications to ensure adequate cruise ship dockings in the future. Questions will be received until 4:00pm September 24, 2024. All questions will be answered formally in writing via addendum and the City assumes all addenda are received if a response is submitted. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
