The City of Virginia, MN (City) is soliciting proposals from qualified proposers/contractors to provide services for the collection and disposal/processing of garbage, recycling, and yard waste. Collectively, these services are provided to customers and referred to as the City's Solid Waste Program. This is a request for proposals, not a competitive bid process. As such, the City may select one or more applicants to interview and/or negotiate with to engage in a contract. The City expects to enter into negotiations for three (3) year contract with the prospective firm. The new contract(s) is estimated to begin on January 1, 2025 and may include the option for extensions after the termination date. The new contract(s) is estimated to begin on January 1, 2025 and terminate at the will of the City, on December 31, 2028, and may include the option for extensions. All requests for clarification of the specifications or further information shall be made in writing to the contact person listed in this RFP. All requests for clarification must be submitted by September 20, 2024. The City reserves the right to cancel this solicitation if it is considered to be in the City's best interest. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or parts of proposals; or to accept part or all of the proposals on the basis of consideration other than the lowest cost.
