The Town of Nantucket through its Department of Public Works (hereinafter "DPW") is seeking qualified bidders to submit bids for Bulk Haul Services for various public works materials from locations off-island and hauled to the DPW'S Materials Bin at 188 Madaket Rd., Nantucket MA 02554. The Contractor shall perform services as necessary from October 15, 2024, to September 14, 2025. This is intended to be a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for two additional one (1) year terms, not to exceed three (3) years to the Town of Nantucket's sole discretion. The Town of Nantucket is located 30 miles off the south coast of Cape Cod. It was settled in 1659 and incorporated in 1671. The Town has an annual year-round population of over 14,000 and approximately 60,000 seasonal residents. The island is 14 miles in length and 3 1/2 miles wide. The Town of Nantucket is within the County of Nantucket. It operates an operated skilled nursing facility, an extensive Public School System and other municipal operations. The Town functions under a Town Manager/Select Board form of government. The Select Board operates under a Charter and enacts policies intended to promote and enhance the general welfare of the Town. The Town of Nantucket reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in its best interest. The Contractor must: o Supply and transport a total of 540 tons of Dense Grade Crushed Stone Subbase, with a minimum delivery of 250 tons at any given time. o Supply and transport 250 tons of 3/4 -inch Crushed Stone, with a minimum delivery of 250 tons at any given time. o Deliver the materials by barge to Nantucket, MA, and then transport the materials to the DPW's Materials Bins, located at 188 Madaket Road. o Delivery shall be completed within seven (7) calendar days (168 hours) of notice. o Delivery shall be completed during normal business hours.
