The Work includes, but is not limited to, furnishing of the labor, materials, and equipment for the construction and start-up of the following: Extension of the Existing Raw Water Intake Pipe including excavation and associated sitework required to perform the work. Installation of screens in the Etowah River. Associated structural work for in-stream pipe and screens installation. Stabilization of the riverbank and installation of storm water drainage. Restoration of the work area. The Work is located at the Riverbend Environmental Complex located at 14938 East Cherokee Dr., Ball Ground, GA 30107. Restoration of the work area. All questions related to the Project shall be submitted by email no later than 5:00 p.m., local time, on October 1, 2024, to Chris Szoch at cszoch@hazenandsawyer.com. Questions, if answered, will be addressed by addendum to the Contract Documents. Receipt of any amendment to this Advertisement for Bids shall be acknowledged, in writing, and shall be submitted with the Bid. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 250 consecutive calendar days, and the time allowed for final completion and readiness for final payment is 280 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement. Additional interim milestones are identified in the Agreement. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the Owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the Owner in an amount equivalent to five percent of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Bid Bond shall be prepared on the Bid Bond form attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as Surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570. The successful Bidder must employ and assign to the Project supervisory personnel trained and state certified at Level 1A - Fundamentals of the Georgia Erosion and Sediment Control training program. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Certification of Contractor's Attorney, and Contractor's Agreement with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The successful Bidder will also be required to furnish the Pre-Construction Oath pursuant to O.C.G.A. 36-91-21 from every person who procures the Agreement. The successful Bidder shall also provide an executed Subcontractor Affidavit for each subcontractor working on the Project, using the form attached to the Agreement; Subcontractor Affidavits shall be submitted to the Cherokee County Water & Sewerage Authority as each subcontractor is brought under contract during execution of the Project. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. The Owner will in no way be liable for any costs incurred by any Bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Advertisement for Bids. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for ninety days after the day of the Bid opening, but Owner may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids, to waive informalities and re-advertise.
