Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Andrews, Texas. Working plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The City desires to select a Design-Build (DB) Firm to design and construct a new Animal Adoption Center. The facility will serve as an extension of the existing animal shelter and is expected to meet the needs of our growing community while ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of the animals. The new center will include various specialized areas, including kennels, a cat room, grooming facilities, and an outdoor exercise area. The construction will require attention to detail, particularly in sanitation, air circulation, and animal welfare. November 14, 2024 Project awarded to Design-Builder December 1, 2024 Construction Start General information on the facility: The facility will be located to the east of the City's existing animal shelter. The City will level and prepare the land for construction. The facility should be at least 4,800 square feet with spray foam ceilings and approximately twothirds of the flooring being epoxy and the remainder being stained concrete. The entire facility must be designed for easy and thorough daily cleaning and disinfecting. Materials and finishes should be selected with durability and sanitation in mind. The contractor will be expected to paint the existing animal shelter to coordinate with the new facility. The front facade of the new facility should also blend well with the existing animal shelter. The contractor will be expected to install Verkada camera(s) and security system*. November 8, 2024 RFP Submissions Due Question Deadline 09/23/2024 Questions received less than 5 days prior to the date for opening of SOQs may not be answered. All communication and questions regarding this RFQ and Project are to be submitted by email to Steve Eggleston at seggleston@cityofandrews.org. The City will utilize the design-build project delivery method. The procurement and the provision of Services will be in accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2269, Subchapter G and this RFQ. Selection of the Design-Builder will be made using a two-step procurement and selection process. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in the Proposals received. Further, the City retains the right to select the Proposal which, in its sole discretion and opinion, is in the best interest and most advantageous to the City
