The City of Visalia Purchasing Division is soliciting Bids from qualified contractors to resurface basketball courts at Village Park (located at 315 Pearl Street in Visalia, CA). Awarded Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, and materials to demolish existing concrete basketball courts and install new concrete basketball courts, court striping and commercial basketball goals. Bids are being sought from contractors who have a proven record of experience in providing the services required by this Invitation to Bid. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, and materials to demo existing concrete basketball courts and install a new concreate basketball courts, court striping, and commercial basketball goals located at Village Park, 315 Pearl Street, Visalia CA 93291. The work will consist of: 1. Removal of approximately 5,520 sq ft of 5-inch concrete. 2. The basketball court area will be leveled to allow for a 5-inch-thick concrete pad that will match the existing grade of surrounding hardscape. Sub-base shall be compacted to 95% compaction or the city's standard compaction for concrete, and re-poured with concrete, leveled and worked so that the concrete basketball courts are returned to a level flat surface that is safe for play. 3. Installation of approximately 5,520 sq ft of 5-inch 6 sack concrete for new basketball courts. 4. Basketball court surface will have a #2 broom finish with a 1% slope from the center of the two courts to the outside edge to prevent puddling on the basketball court surface. 5. Basketball courts shall be striped to two regulation size National Basketball Association courts. 6. Court striping paint shall be acrylic paint designed for outdoor concrete surfaces. Contract Dates: Tentative date of award date: November 2024. Contractor must be able to begin the work as described within this bid upon receipt of the City's Notice to Proceed, issued in writing by the Purchasing Department. Time of Completion Deadline: The entire project must be completed within thirty (45) calendar days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued in writing by the Purchasing Department. Budget Estimate for this project is approximately $400,000. Prevailing Wages: Under the requirements of Labor Code section 1782 passed by SB7 and in compliance with City of Visalia Ordinance 2014-13, this public works project is subject to (Federal and State) prevailing wages as specified in this document and attachments. This project is subject to the payment of State or Federal wage rates, whichever rate is higher. License Requirements: No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not duly licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division III of the State of California Business and Professions Code and has a current Class B, General Engineering or combination of Class C licenses to complete all aspects of the work. See Section III for additional Department of Industrial Relations Requirements which apply to this project. This section includes bid form, affidavits, required statements, and any other documents that are required to submit a bid. City may not consider Bids which are not accompanied by the required completed forms. In addition, a security deposit of no less than 10% of the Bid amount is required to guarantee the Bid. City will not consider Bids which are not accompanied by the required security. Security may be made by certified check, cashier's check, or Bidder's bond. Forfeiture of Bid security shall be governed by California Contract Code Section 20172-20174. Within ten (10) days of the Notice of Award, the Bidder awarded contract pursuant to this RFB will be required to provide to the City of Visalia with: 1. A "Performance Bond" in the amount of 100% of the contract amount 2. A "Payment Bond" in the amount of 100% of the contract amount 3. A "Maintenance Bond" in the amount of 75% of the contract amount. The Maintenance bond shall remain in effect for one year after the Notice of Completion is filed.
