Wright at cwright@cityofspartabburg.org.** The City of Spartanburg is issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) to interested contractors with sufficient information to enable them to prepare and submit proposals for the consideration by the City of Spartanburg for the construction of two (2) metal Aircraft Hangars located on the City of Spartanburg Downtown Airport Property at 500 Ammons Road. Proposal No. 2424-10-01-01 Site X & Y Exhibit 1 Site Plan provides an overview of the proposed development area. The attached exhibit shows that the proposed parcel X & Y is located northwest of the airfield. All proposed hangars proposals will require review by the City of Spartanburg, Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport, for building codes and compatibility with existing hangars. Site X & Y proposed hangars will be 11,900 SF, with a height of 26 feet, and a constructed type II-B hangar. The contractor will be responsible for grading, compaction & testing of proposed building pads. In addition, the contractor will be responsible for designing & construction of suitable concrete pads & aprons to withstand loads from aircraft and the footing of proposed Hangars. The construction site has landside access to Kensington Road. Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of construction, stamped drawings being structural, mechanical, or geotechnical. Included in this package are drawings & specifications of an existing Hangar that was constructed a year ago, the proposed two (2) Hangars would need to be same, or equal, in specifications, to existing Hangar that is adjacent to the proposed Hangars. The City of Spartanburg, hereby, notifies all proposers that it will affirmatively ensure that all disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of gender, race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Proposals may be held by the City of Spartanburg for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of Proposals for the purpose of reviewing the Proposals and investigating the qualifications of prospective parties, prior to awarding of the Contract. The vendor that is awarded the proposal will be required to obtain a City of Spartanburg Business License. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of the Bid. The Bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the proposal or bid.
