The City of Waterbury, Board of Education (hereinafter "City"), is seeking a qualified contractor to furnish and install a modular metal handicapped ramp and incidental related work at Kennedy High School, 422 Highland Avenue, Waterbury, CT. Scope of Services Furnish and install modular ADA compliant ramps, railings, guides, guards, footings and supports as required. Existing stair railings to be modified as required and as shown. Please see Technical Specifications. The agreement period for any contract or purchase order resulting from this RFP is anticipated to be 120 days. Each Proposal with a total cost greater than $50,000.00 submitted shall be accompanied by a Proposal Security (a Certified Check or Bid Bond) in the amount of ten (10) percent of the Total Proposal Price. The Proposer to whom a contract is offered, must furnish to the City, if that contract has a total cost greater than $50,000.00, a 100 percent Performance Bond with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women- , and/or Disabled-owned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The City reserves the right to award in part, to reject any and all proposals in whole or in part for misrepresentation or if the proposer is in default of any prior City contract, or if the proposal limits or modifies any of the terms and conditions and/or specifications of the RFP. The City also reserves the right to waive technical defects, irregularities and omissions if, in its judgment, the best interest of the City will be served.
