Site work for a transportation facility in Portland, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The work site is located at Portland (Oregon) Station. The project consists of the following: AMTRAK is initiating the procurement to select a construction contractor for the trainset maintenance infrastructure improvements at Portland Station (the Project), which will be delivered via design-bid-build method. The Project site consists of two island platforms that service Amtrak's Cascade and Empire Builder route. This Project will provide maintenance infrastructure improvements to accept Amtrak's new Airo trainsets. The upgrades will include improvements to air, domestic water, power and fueling capabilities. The four tracks servicing the platforms are within Amtrak's control and coordination with host railroad will be managed through Amtrak. The selected construction contractor will sequentially perform construction activities that pertain to utility system improvements within the platform areas. Major construction elements for each platform will consist of utility modifications and upgrades, minor repair of platform and access, track containment bed replacement, and asphalt repairs.
