Moore Norman Technology Center School District No. 17 is seeking price quotations for the Repair of(3) Marley SPX Cooling Towers Please contact me at angie.gallagher@mntc.edu or (405)-801-5168. Repairs for Marley Model NC8407SM-10 Cooling Tower, S/N 10028061-A1,B1 and C1, 3 Cell(s), 1-story rooftop location o The heat transfer fill shall be constructed of 15 mil polyvinyl chloride (PVC) after forming. Fill shall be resistant to rot, decay and biological attack; formed, cross fluted bonded together for strength and durability in block format for easy removal and replacement; self- extinguishing with flame spread rating of 5 per ASTM E84-81a; able to withstand continuous operating temperature of 120F; fabricated to ensure water breaks up into droplets; specially treated to resist ultraviolet light. The fill shall be supplied by an original equipment cooling tower manufacturer who has used the proposed fill in a CTI certified crossflow cooling tower to ensure there will be no performance loss to the equipment. o Fill Kit shall include pultruded fiberglass bottom supports providing a minimum 5" clearance between the cold water sump floor and the bottom of the fill for proper maintenance and cleaning of the cold water sump. o Fill kit shall include all intermediate and upper fill supports, and all eliminator supports. All supports shall be constructed of pultruded fiberglass. Flexible membrane air seals shall be installed on the air inlet to prevent water from leaking out the top of the fill bundles, and to prevent air from by-passing the heat transfer section of the fill pack. o All fill bundles shall be capable of being removed and re-used in order to provide access to all internal sheet metal surfaces and sheet metal seams, to allow for maintenance or repairs. o Fill kit shall include separate stand-alone drift eliminators with a drift loss of .002% of the re-circulating water. o Fill kit shall include built in air inlet louvers with drainage channels between the built in louver and the heat transfer portion of the fill sheet to reduce circulating water exposure to sunlight, and to allow for treated water to flow over the fill at the top of the bundle and prevent the build of calcium carbonate between sheets in the top portion of the fill pack on the air inlets. o Thermal performance guarantee provided by a cooling tower manufacturer to be provided at time of bid. o Acceptable manufacturers Baltimore Aircoil, Evapco, Marley. o Minimum of a 2-year warranty on parts and labor. Ensure that HVAC systems remain functional during the project and that any interruptions are minimal o Perform lock-out, and tag-out procedures o Remove existing hanging sheet fill and hangers o Install new fiberglass fill supports o Install new 15 MIL bottom supported PVC pack fill media with integrated louvers and drift eliminators o Clean hot water basins and inspect mechanical o Remove locks and return cooling tower to the owner for start-up o Repeat the process on the remaining 2 towers o Receiving, deliveries, unloading, and storing new materials upon delivery in lay down vicinity of the cooling tower or fluid cooler coordinated with the owner. o Hoisting new materials to the roof. o Lowering old materials from the roof. o All demolition debris must be promptly removed from the school premises. o Crane or Lift Device to assist hoisting/lowering of materials, or to assist removal/installation of materials to be provided by contractor if applicable to the job o Plywood for roof protection, if applicable to the job. o For the specifications, the campus will be closed on the following days, which can serve as options for workdays: o November 25-29, 2024 (Thanksgiving break) o December 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025 (Winter break) o March 17-21, 2025 (Spring break) o These dates can be proposed or incorporated into any work schedules to align with campus closures.
