**As of October 25,2024, project was awarded to Grayson Carter & Son Contracting, awarded amount is $1,171,144.20.** Description: Madison County, Alabama is seeking to replace approximately 8,000 feet of asbestos-cement water main with 12" ductile iron pipe along Ready Section Road in the Hazel Green area. The Contractor shall: o Install temporary erosion control devices; o Install approximately 8,000 linear feet of new 12-inch Ductile Iron water main by open cut, including hydrants and valve assemblies, as shown on the Construction Drawings; o Traditional Jack and Bore approximately 70 feet of 12-inch Ductile Iron Pipe o Install approximately 250ft of HDPE main by directional bore, as shown on the Construction Drawings. o Perform bores and open cuts for new main as shown on Construction Drawings; o Pressure test and disinfect the new main and services; o Relocate existing short-side and long-side services to the new water main; o Connect the new main to the existing mains; o Repair driveways, culverts, and roadways to original condition or better; o Abandon existing mains and remove old hydrants and valve boxes; o Maintain appropriate erosion control as found in CBMPP; o Landscape yards and right-of way to original condition or better; o Remove temporary devices (sample taps, blow-offs, erosion control devices) from the site.
