Background This project will be completed in coordination with other improvements near the Astor House (12th/Arapahoe) and are intended to improve accessibility for the walks in the area, reduce pedestrian crossing lengths, etc. in this highly utilized corridor in the downtown area. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted by electronic correspondence or in writing. Interpretation or clarifications considered necessary in response to such questions will be issued only by Addenda. Questions received less than four (4) days prior to the date for opening of the Bids may not be answered. Only responses to questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect Work is generally as follows: Creation of curb bump outs generally at Arapahoe/12th street intersection and the Arapahoe/13th street intersection with new curb, gutter, sidewalk, and accessible ramps, to improve pedestrian crossing lengths and overall accessibility to the area. Work will include select demolition, concrete work related to curb & gutter, and sidewalk improvements, construction of storm piping and inlets, pavement restoration, landscaping, and associated signage and striping modifications. Any and all Work awarded will be to one Contractor.
