Site work for a water / sewer project in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project footprint is adjacent to and in between Sumas Canal to the east, and the Sumas River to the west. Flow into the Sumas River from the Sumas Canal is controlled by Barrowtown Pump Station. The City of Abbotsford (City) has contracted Stantec Consulting Ltd to provide engineering services related to a flood wall protection system at the Barrowtown Pump Station (PS) located at 40198 Quadling Road in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Stantec was engaged to provide a detailed design for a cast in place concrete flood protection wall to be integrated into the southeast wall of the existing pump station. Refer to Attachment #1 - Project Drawings. Project work includes the following per the project drawings: Construction of a cast in place corbel beam flood wall structure; Construction of a cast in place flood wall structure; Modification of the existing trashrake support; Relocation of metal stairs and various mechanical and electrical pipes, junction boxes, and appurtenances; Demolition of masonry structure and base slab to the west and joined to the main building and the electrical equipment seated with the structure (trashrake control room); and Re-wiring and testing of electrical lighting, trashrake, hoist, heat trace, and other impacted electrical equipment moved as part of the work.
