The City of Methuen is seeking bids for Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) for the Water Treatment Plant. No bid will be considered which is not accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price but no less than twenty five hundred dollars ($2,500) pay- able to the "City of Methuen". This bid deposit will become the property of the City if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract. The City of Methuen reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding if it is deemed to be in the best interest for the City to do so. No Bid may be withdrawn within 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of bids. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 30B.
