Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a theater / auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for the addition of a theater / auditorium; for the demolition of a theater / auditorium; for the renovation of a theater / auditorium; and for site work for a theater / auditorium.

Phase I of the expansion includes constructing a new approximately 31,000-square-foot addition on the east side of the Olson Performing Arts Center to address critical educational and community needs. The addition will include state-of-the-art dance and large ensemble rehearsal studios, a large music ensemble rehearsal space, and a flexible black box theatre. These upgrades address accreditation requirements, support an increase in undergraduate enrollment in dance and theatre, and create a dynamic, inviting environment for both students and the wider community. This phase also includes site preparation, utility upgrades, and enabling work, including the addition of fire suppression to unprotected areas within the existing building. Construction Estimate $24,500,000. Qualifications of respondents to this RFQ will be evaluated based upon financial responsibility, safety record, ability to adhere to schedules, past experience the firm and the firm’s proposed project team has had with projects of similar size, construction type, schedule and scope and other information included in the qualification packet. The Owner will assign an evaluation team comprised of representatives from the design team and the Owner’s staff to evaluate and score the respondent’s qualifications material. A point total of 1000 points has been assigned to the qualification criteria enclosed herein. A minimum of 800 points must be achieved to be pre-qualified. The university will notify all respondents after their qualifications have been reviewed and scored.
