(1) - Route 17, Essex Street to South of Route 4 (2-Step Project) (Design B-1 Level C, H-1 Level C, E-3 Level B, T-1 Level A) This Project is Located on Route 17 Between the Mileposts of 10.19 and 12.04 in the Borough of Maywood, Township of Rochelle Park, and Borough of Paramus in Bergen County. Route 17 Within the Project Limits Runs North to South and is an Urban Principal Arterial Freeway/expressway. The Mainline Consists of Two Travel Lanes in Each Direction With Minimal Inside Shoulders and Variable-width Outside Shoulders. The Four-lane Cross Section (Two Lanes in Each Direction) Reflects the Original Cross Section of the Roadway Built in the Early 1930s. This Section of Route 17 Needs to Be Widened to Accommodate Current and Future Traffic Volumes, Relieve Congestion, and Improve the Operation of the Corridor Within the Project Limits.
