Saving Project...

Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The project consists of an 150,000 SF on-site replacement to the existing South Mecklenburg High School. The replacement will include demolition of existing building, upgrades to existing athletics and a new building with gymnasium, auditorium, career and technical education (CTE), media center, classrooms and support spaces. The project will be constructed on an existing school campus when school is in session. The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is pre-qualifying subcontractors for the construction of the upcoming South Mecklenburg High School On-Site Replacement. The participation of Minority-owned, Women-owned, and Small Business Enterprises is highly encouraged. Bids from contractors that are not prequalified will not be opened and will be rejected. Construction Start: Summer 2025. Construction Completion: Summer 2027.
