Proposed Culvert and Watermain Replacement - Seekonk Street. The Town of Norfolk reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The Town of Norfolk shall not be responsible for bids arriving late for any reason. The work on the Seekonk Street Culvert generally consists of but is not limited to: 1. Mobilize to the site; establish site access and staging areas. 2. Install temporary traffic control measures and implement detour as shown on the plans. 3. Install erosion and sediment control devices. 4. Install temporary fencing and to protect work site. 5. Install temporary cofferdams, water controls, and water diversion systems; remove all systems when no longer needed. 6. Grub and strip all shrubs, brush, woody vegetation, and loam where specified within the limits of work; fill resulting voids with approved material compacted in lifts; stockpile suitable loam for reuse. 7. Complete culvert replacement, roadway, and utility work (Milestone Completion Date: August 22, 2025): a. Provide temporary traffic control measures and devices as specified in the Temporary Traffic Control Plans to accommodate construction, b. Install temporary water diversion system, c. Remove and dispose existing pavement, reinforced concrete box culverts and RC and CM pipes, steel guardrail and posts as indicated on the Plans, d. Excavate to subgrade for proposed precast concrete culverts and cast in place retaining walls, e. Install proposed precast concrete culverts and cast in place retaining walls, and steel guardrails, f. Regrade stream channel to the lines and grades as indicated on the Plans, g. Backfill excavation with material specified to restore roadway to proposed grades, h. Install new pavement for roadway as indicated in the Contract Documents, i. Install new pavement marking as indicated in the Contract Documents, j. Install shoulder slope treatments as indicated on the Plans. 8. Remove temporary cofferdams, water controls, and water diversion systems. 9. Complete full-depth reconstruction of the roadway and mill and overlay to the limits shown on the plans. 10. Install drainage swales, guardrails, and roadway striping at the locations and to the limits shown on the plans. 11. Replace the watermain under Seekonk Street to the limits shown on the plans and install casing pipe under the culverts to relocate the watermain at the culvert crossing. 12. Install casing under proposed culverts to relocate the gas main under the proposed culverts. Relocation of the gas main will be completed by others. 13. Restore disturbed areas of site; construct wetland replication area, install landscaping and seeding, demobilize.
