Renovation of a multi-residential development in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The Salisbury Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Housing Type: Elderly 667-1 for the Salisbury Housing Authority in Salisbury Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Vance Stein, Inc. The Project consists of: Replace existing VCT flooring and vinyl stair treads, this includes removal and abatement of asbestos containing materials; patch and/or repair damaged gypsum wall board and repaint the walls, ceilings, and trim; refinish existing handrails in the common stairwells of five (5) two story buildings. The work is estimated to cost: $132,069 Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. For assistance, contact Projectdog, Inc. at 978.499.9014 General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Salisbury Housing Authority. Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a written request to the Architect. The Architect will answer such requests if received seven (7) calendar days before the date for receipt of the bids. 1. Demolition: (i) Remove and abate asbestos containing materials. Properly dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with General Conditions of the Contract and Section 02 82 13.21 ASBESTOS ABATEMENT technical specifications (ii) Remove and properly dispose of existing VCT floor tiles and existing vinyl wall base (iii) Remove and properly dispose of existing vinyl stair treads 2. Preparation: (i) Repair and patch damaged areas of existing gypsum/plaster walls, finish sand (ii) Investigate and verify that ceiling plaster is not calcimine containing plaster; repair and patch areas of damage, finish sand (iii) Repair and/or replace damaged wood casework, finish sand (iv) Finish sand existing hardwood handrails 3. Installation and finishing: (i) New resilient flooring (ii) New rubber stair treads (iii) New vinyl wall base (iv) Refinish existing hardwood handrails (v) Finish paint walls, ceiling, and wood trim 4. All Work either shown on the drawings or included in the specifications unless specifically indicated as not to be done. 5. Work outside the Project Site as called for in the Contract Documents as required for the performance of the Work. 6. Providing and restoring, where appropriate, all temporary facilities.
