Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority (the "Authority" or "RDU") invites proposals from experienced and qualified Contractors (may also be referred to as "Bidders," "Consultants," "Contractors," "Offerors," "Proposers," "Respondents," and/or "Vendors," throughout this RFP) to provide interior plants installation, maintenance, and related services ("Services") to the Authority. The Authority is seeking a Contractor whose combination of experience and expertise will provide timely and cost-effective services to the Authority. Background The Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) serves as the gateway to Central North Carolina and the Research Triangle region, including the largest research park in the United States. RDU is governed by the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board. The Authority Board is made up of eight representatives; two each are appointed from the City of Durham, Durham County, the City of Raleigh and Wake County. The Authority shall have the option of extending the contract for two (2) additional one-year terms. The Authority shall give the Contractor written notice of its intent to renew no less than ninety (90) calendar days prior to the expiration and if the Authority elects to renew, the terms of said renewal shall be specified in writing as part of the written notice. Contractor shall respond within thirty (30) calendar days of this notice with any exceptions or changes to the original contract term. The exceptions shall be negotiated between the Authority and the Contractor during the remaining sixty (60) calendar days of the notice period. If there are no exceptions taken or, upon mutual contract of the parties concerning renewal terms, the Contractor shall sign the renewal notice and send it back to the Authority.
