Renovation of a civil project in San Francisco, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Contract No. DB-136 Wastewater Facilities Security Enhancements (Project) in search of proposers with the specified qualifications to respond to the forthcoming Request for Proposals (RFP) for this Project to design and construct the Wastewater Facilities Security Enhancements Project . A "Proposer" is the Design-Build Team responding to this RFQ. The Project will address SFPUC wastewater facilities, assets, staff, and operations security risks from outside malevolent acts. The Project will upgrade physical and electronic security systems for SFPUC's main wastewater treatment plants and their adjacent, essential facilities. This Contract will address design and construction of security upgrades across the following facilities: o Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant (SEP), Islais Creek Booster Station (Booster PS or SEP 550), and Bruce Flynn Pump Station (BFS) o Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant (OSP) and Westside Pump Station (WSS) o North Point Facility (NPF) and North Shore Pump Station (NSS) SFPUC Background The SFPUC is a Department of the City and County of San Francisco (City) that provides retail drinking water and sewer services to San Francisco, wholesale water to three other Bay Area Counties, and hydroelectric power to San Francisco's municipal operations. The SFPUC is comprised of three separate enterprises. The SFPUC Water Enterprise is responsible for managing the transmission, treatment, storage, and distribution of potable water to San Francisco's wholesale and retail customers. The SFPUC Wastewater Enterprise is responsible for managing the collection, treatment, and disposal of San Francisco's wastewater. The SFPUC Power Enterprise is responsible for managing retail power sales, transmission and power scheduling, energy efficiency programs, street lighting services, utilities planning for redevelopment projects, energy resource planning efforts, and various other energy services. Security upgrades include components such as fencing and gates, cameras, lighting, card readers and door contacts, intrusion detection systems, servers for video recording and analytics, fiber optics, landscaping, and signage. All requests for information concerning the RFQ must be directed to qbd@sfwater.org. The Deadline for Proposers to Submit RFQ Questions is October 31, 2024. Project Schedule SFPUC anticipates advertising the RFP in Winter 2024 with Notice to Proceed in 2025. SFPUC estimates that the design and construction schedule will take 30 months to complete.
